Princeton is one of a handful of American universities about which it’s almost impossible to casually refer to by name without inciting strong reactions both good and bad and for which the usual hack of referring just to the host city (e.g., “I went to college in New Haven”, or “I went to college near Boston”) doesn’t work either.
