Not being able to find an answer, but this is important as I may be doing WBB in the fall of 2020 if I get in. Many WBB students are spending the year in HK right now a part of the program. Have they been called back to the US or are they staying? How is it like living there if they are staying?
This has been a crazy year for WBB. The HK students switched to online learning in November after HK closed all schools due to protests. Most but not all US students came home early to finish semester 1 online. Then before semester 2 even started, the virus outbreak in nearby China led HKUST to delay classes and then ultimately start semester 2 online again. So, most of the HK based WBB students have been studying online for the past few months from home or wherever they want. The Italy based students have obviously been disrupted more recently by the virus outbreak in Milan and they also switched to studying online. I like to think they all got a head start on what most US based college students are now going thru with colleges closing for the semester and switching to e-learning due to the virus outbreak in America. I hope next year’s WBB classes have better luck in HK and Italy!
@quantjock thanks for the update! I have been so curious as to the specifics for these students. I knew they were called back, but forgot about the protests in HK. I hope they are able to make up for their troubles in the years ahead of them. My D was in northern Italy last summer doing research. Glad it was last summer!
Thanks for the update. I’ll have to think long and hard about accepting the offer if I get in.
