wow, I am going to sound really ignorant saying this, but I would never have guessed that they played "Gasolina" in Virginia. That's actually pretty cool.

The Streets - Fit But You Know It

Bruce Springsteen--No Surrender

"wow, I am going to sound really ignorant saying this, but I would never have guessed that they played "Gasolina" in Virginia. That's actually pretty cool."

lol, well i'm actually from northern virginia (most of us NoVa-ers like to think that we're a separate state from Va). and i actually first heard the song on my puerto rican friend's cd at a summer program this past summer (when i said "puerto rican" i meant not just by ethnicity, but also residence).

back on topic:
lil scrappy & trillville ~ some cut

athlonmj and the other person who mentioned the shins (sorry i can't remember who!)-

I love the shins! ok that was a really pointless message. anyway, right now i only have 'oh, inverted world,' but my friend (who's going to princeton...he's so lucky that he already knows where he's going!) is going to burn me 'shoots too narrow.' so yeah...what's your favorite shins song? i like 'know your onion!' and 'new slang'...though i definitely like every single song on the album - it's so hard to choose. and then they also have 'the celibate life' and 'caring is creepy' and 'one by one all day'...ok i'm going to go listen some more.

The second album is more upbeat and the songs are more fun, and there is more diversity on the album, but I think that the first album was more coherent, distinctive, and unified. It had more character to it, while the second album was more generic. Both are very good, though.

Like a Child - Jars of Clay

u know what song i just dont understand..somebody told me by the killers..

yeah, i think the first is better than 'chutes too narrow' (hmm - i must have had bio on my mind to type 'shoots too narrow' - i just ate some celery and thought about sclerenchyma). i'm very excited to listen to the whole second album as i've never listened to it straight through. i also need to get the ep w/ postal service and iron & wine.

omg i HATE that song. i hope they really break their backs, and voiceboxes. (referring to "somebody told me")

Widespread Panic - The Waker

somebody told me is the killers not postal service

Sail Away - David Gray

willow, i like chutes too narrow the best =) soooo many good songs but New Slang & Know your onion on the other CD are still very good! you have good taste! hit me up on AIM sometime, i'll send u the cd cause i downloaded it =)

the decemberists - the mariner's revenge song

The Bee Gees - Holiday
just changed to Jim Croce - TIme in a Bottle

to bjrwrh:

yeah man, the slip rock. i dig their albums too, its just a different sort of sound. But definitely, if u wanna hear them, you gotta hear them live. I've been to three shows, each was quite different, yet awesome. It's cool though that you like em.

Guster- Medicine... and I like Newt's selection... pretty sweet lineup of Christian tunes. I remember you from the Wheaton boards man... I got in there EA.. but Ive still got 4 more letters coming before I officially decide.

The Killers' CD is on constant replay, with heavy emphasis on "Somebody Told Me", "Mr. Brightside", "Andy, You're a Star", "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" and "Midnight Show". Some Indian songs are on replay also... "Dholi Taro" and "Shaava Shaava"... "Blvd. of Broken Dreams" is always on the tip of my tongue...

shaava shaava.....no dear u gotta listen to like the oldies..they rock..salem e ishq..or jhumka gira re..or even songs by jay sean!!...ohhhh i love the killers..what about the all the things ive done....thats great..what about that song!??
