What are you reading at the moment?

angels and demons is a horrible book do not read it

eat pray love - elizabeth gilbert

The Appeal for second time - lost it the first so re-reading

No, I’m very serious. Dan Brown is a mediocre author at best, and Angels and Demons is one of his worst books.

The Scarlet Letter…and not by choice.

I think Dan Brown’s great… I almost got to play tennis with him… emphasis on almost:(

What kind of books do you like? (We might want to take this to PM so we don’t spam the thread)

Ugh, The Historian is probably my least favorite book ever. Either that or In Lucia’s Eyes. Horrible.

I read books in one sitting usually, so I’m rarely in the middle of one. I just finished Hunting an Gathering by some French author. I’m sort of reading a Murakami collection of short stories. I have 3 more Murakamis to go and I will have completed his oeuvre!

East of Eden
My Sister’s Keeper

kafka on the shore by haruki murakami

I read The Alchemist and A Clockwork Orange today. The former started off decently, but grew really annoying and didactic as it neared the end, which nearly persuaded me not to bother with finishing it. The latter was enjoyable, but I probably wouldn’t have read it if I couldn’t immediately decipher the butchered, poorly romanized Russian – some sentences had it as nearly every other word! Had it been in some other language (say, Chinese), I would have surely flung the book halfway across the room in disgust.

Of Mice and Men

[qiote] kafka on the shore by haruki murakami

I read that in March or April or something. I’ve read most of Murakami’s stuff. That one’s good, but it’s one of his more acclaimed ones and I don’t know if it’s one of his top two.

Death by Black Hole by Neil Tyson, but I don’t like his style of writing.

Wild Blue, which is a compilation of nonfictional anecdotes of aviation.

I started A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole today. It’s pretty funny.

I just love that correlation.

This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Street Lawyer by John Grisham

^Street Lawyer is one of my favorite books

really? did you read The Firm or The Pelican Brief?
I really enjoyed those as well!

Prey, by Michael Crichton
