is there a lot of red tape to go thru to transfer?

not from what iv researched unless ur trying to get into aem

and why do u want to go to the ag school, if its not for aem?

In response to "why would u turn down columbia for Cornell" well im a Presidential Scholar at Cornell, plus I like the environment a little better in Ithaca, as in NYC u would have to dish a lot of cash to enjoy the better parts of the city. Also, Cornell's more of a campus, columbia is well not really a college life inducing area, everyone just scuttles off to the other parts of NYC. As for internships, youll get the same, and in reality, once you look at it, id rather go to columbia for grad school. I want to transition from high school life in ohio to college life in a rather nice place, ithaca is definitely better. Anyways cya guys this fall, by the way when exactly does Cornell begin for freshman?

"want to transition from high school life in ohio to college life in a rather nice place, ithaca is definitely better."

Same with me, I come from a really small town in Connecticut and go to a High School in a farming town with an Agriculture wing (although I don't do ag).

A week or two before Labor Day. I agree at least Cornell science is a lot better than some if not most of the other ivies. Cornell biology is particular offers a lot of courses, even upper level graduate courses. Plus, if you wanna go to vet school, there is a vet school on campus, which I believe is ranked number 1 in the nation.

There are many people who turned down Columbia for Cornell. Three of my good friends turned down Columbia College for Cornell. Two of them are bio major in CALS (obviously influenced by the tuition break) and one is a social science major. I also know a couple acquaintances who turned down Harvard for Cornell Engineering.

Congrats to you MUnited, I am sure you will enjoy being part of the CPRS. By the way, orientation starts on August 18th. http://www.cornell.edu/academics/calendar/2006-07.cfm

i turned down northwestern, johns hopkins, tufts, wellesley, case western, u. of illinois, and boston u. the final decision came down between carnegie mellon and cornell. i'm doing engineering, and both colleges are great for that, but ultimately i chose cornell because it was so beautiful there. much nicer than pittsburgh....

Arjun: Yes, Princeton doesn't accept transfers.

abike11: Eating clubs are basically just a place for upperclassmen to eat. Some of them are selective, some are not. You want more info go here: http://www.yaledailynews.com/article.asp?AID=32479

Georgetown EA, Johns Hopkins, HMC, Berkeley, UCLA regents, UCSD regents, UCD, Northwestern (WL)

I didn't apply to many schools, but... UC Berkeley, UCLA, Johns Hopkins. After visiting all of them, it was down to Cal and Cornell. That was a hard decision.

UChicago and craploads of money at ASU! Plus UofIowa, I suppose, but everyone at my school applies there just in case.

I ultimately turned down UPenn, Carnegie Mellon, and a full ride + laptop at TCNJ. Sometimes I wonder whether I made the "right" decision, but then I figure I can always go to one of the others for grad school.

bowdoin, cal and ucla regents

wasn't a tough choice one bit :)
<3 big red

northwestern, wash u, tufts, hopkins, maryland

im from new york so aem at CALS was a lot cheaper than any of them plus i liked it as much as the others

usc, ut, purdue, uiuc

northwestern, cal, ucla, middlebury, and some others..

carnegie mellon, columbia engineering, um... michigan, and a couple others

I turned down Middlebury, UVA (honors/echols), William and Mary, Colgate, Wesleyan, U. Maryland, George Washington, and UVM for the Hotel School. Hehe.

lilgenius, ru kidding???????/

for the hotel school, u turned down those schools....idk man (some ppl), i mean if thats what u want to do, then congrats.....
