What do you want to study in college? What do you want to be when you finish college? Where would you like to work and live?

I just thought it would be interesting to see what everyone has to say.

What do you want to study in college? What do you want to be when you finish college? Where would you like to work and live?

I just thought it would be interesting to see what everyone has to say.

Right now I’m thinking I’d like to study something in the medical field. I enjoy biology, but I also want to study German and music. My goal is to spend a semester in Germany, but we’ll see. I’d like to be a pediatric physician assistant, since I enjoy working with kids, too. I hope to stay in Wisconsin, no matter where I go to college. :)

I just graduated from high school. I’m planning to double major in Mathematics and Teacher Education. I don’t think I’ll get a minor, but I want to learn some Russian and take a lot of philosophy classes. I want to teach math at the high school or college level, and I have a pipe dream of getting a Ph.D. in math. I don’t have any preferences for where I’ll live, but I’m ultimately not a very adventurous person and I’ll probably stay in Ohio unless there’s a compelling reason to move somewhere else.

I’d like to major in Physics and possibly minor in Mathematics. I’d then like to go to a top PhD program in Physics where I’d study something like Theoretical Physics or Particle Physics (Something, not sure yet, could even be Astrophysics but I have lost a bit of interest in that lately). Some really cool fields right now are nuclear fusion, dark matter and dark energy, neutrinos that only interact through gravity, a bunch of stuff. Then the ultimate goal is to be a Physics professor at MIT, Harvard, or UChicago, but more realistically I’d be doing stuff like research for some lab, doing a postdoc somewhere or working at some telescope, or working at a particle accelerator. Even though I currently live in New York, Massachusetts is my second favorite state or tied with New York for first. Cape Cod is amazing and Boston is such a great city.

Go off and major in Mechanical engineering, minor in mathematics. Then eventually get my masters at Stanford. And hopefully become a Disney Imagineer designing rides and attractions in Orlando!

As of now, I hope to major in English and theatre, English and history, English and linguistics, or English and anthropology, possibly with a minor in education studies (interested in education reform) or philosophy… or agriculture. Or classics. Or archaeology.

I want to go to grad school, most likely at the University of Edinburgh. I’m in love with two masters programmes there: “Evolution of Language and Cognition” and “Material Cultures and History of the Book.”

I want to either:

When I retire I shall move to the Scottish highlands where I will open a small bed and breakfast with a focus on organic and local foods, with a small collection of books for guests.

Thought way too much about this, oops. I just like books and words

Once I’m done with high school (a.k.a. next year), I hope to get into a BS/MD program.

If I’m unsuccessful, I’d like to major in biology—specifically microbiology—and then apply for med school. Practicing in cardiovascular surgery is my one, true goal.

I want to travel the world (after I finish college) and then start up my own company and charity. I got big dreams, but I can do it if I believe in myself.

I have a bad habit of changing interests dramatically. In the past few years, I’ve wanted to be an author, a hedge fund manager, a cardiologist, a mathematician, a professor, an entrepreneur, a bioinformatician, and a physicist. But right now I’m interested in pure mathematics and theoretical computer science, and I’ll probably pursue a double major in college. Recently, I’ve been looking at 3-2 programs where I could get a B.A. in mathematics at a LAC and a B.S. in computer science at Caltech or Columbia. I’ll probably also spend some time studying physics, specifically theoretical physics and astrophysics, and I might minor in economics if I attend the University of Chicago. If I attend an easy college like Princeton, I might triple major. Depending on my financial situation, I might pursue a Ph.D., or three.

That said, I have no career prospects. I might spend some time at a major technology company like Google or DropBox (they sent me a t-shirt), or I might start my own. I might study bioinformatics and take over the world, or I might be a struggling author, living on the streets (not my top choice). Maybe I’ll become a designer: I’ve always liked the idea of designing a city from scratch. If only someone would build it for me. Any volunteers?

Now, cities are a little easier. I’d like to spend some time in San Francisco, Vancouver, and London. I wouldn’t mind living in NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Seattle, though, if the job prospects are good.

TL;DR: I’ve got no idea what I want to do, but I’ll probably change my occupation, and city of residence, more than a few times.

College, then Law school, then become a lawyer.

going to major in EE most likely. but when it comes to future, I’ve very little idea. however I’m hoping to find a tech startup.

but my future plan would be to get married.

Politicial science and economic or political science and history in college , then grad school for law.
@mrnephew what r u considering for majors in college

I’m hoping to study psychology in college and then go on to become a psychologist by getting a PhD in grad school! In Canada, if possible. I love biology, though, so if I decide not to go into psychology, I’ll probably do something in biotechnology.

If all else goes to hell, I’m fine being a starving artist. I like art c:

I want to study Political Science and some variation of science and society. I’d like to attend Harvard or Brown for undergrad. I really want to get involved with startups, especially at Harvard. After undegrad, I want to go into management consulting for 2 or 3 years, and then get my MBA, from Stanford or Wharton in specific. After getting my MBA, I’d be about 27 years old, and I’d want to get a job in venture capital. After working as a venture capitalist for maybe 8 years, I want to get a job as a senior executive at a top tech firm, like Google, Facebook, etc. After that, I’d apply for some C-level positions at tech companies. Probably going to live in Boston until I get my MBA, and then I’ll move to Silicon Valley
