I have Direct Hits Volume 2, but what books should I get to improve my CR score?
March SAT: 460
June SAT: 510
It’s holding back my score by quite a bit. D:

If only there were some previous discussions about this question…

Both the links I provided contain comments from 2014, and one has many comments from 2015. And if you wanted “success stories,” you should have asked for (or better yet searched for) them, rather than asking about which books are best.
Try: The Washington Post, A Tale of Two Cities, Paradise Lost, anything Shakespeare, The Economist, War and Peace, etc
@jackrabbit14 I meant prep books. I read A Tale of Two Cities already aka Hell.
I recommend Mike Barrett’s The Black Book and Erica Meltzer’s The Critical Reader.
@marvin100 Is this sarcasm? If not, where can I purchase at the cheapest price?
I recommend Dale Carnegie’s “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. Jeez, I can’t wait to help after reading this thread.
@aznboi4981 No, marvin100 was not being sarcastic. In fact, the books he recommended are the best for improving your critical reading score.
However, you should have done some research beforehand. There already have been many discussions on critical reading books. Also, you can do your own research on where you can buy the books for the cheapest price.
If you just want to buy one book, then go with the Black Book. It’s more suitable for the SAT than the Critical Reader, which is also focused on college classes.
