unfortunately you dont get to have a senior slump, keep working through the end of this year and try to have really strong end of year senior grades.
maybe call the admissions office and ask a few questions about the wait list to demonstrate your interest?

you can do it! good luck :)

Unfortunately they only took 11 people off the waiting list last year. Colgate is not need blind, so they will likely take full pay students first. If you really want to go there, you have to make another trip up to Hamilton and speak with your admissions officer. Tell them how you feel about Colgate. It is much, much harder to reject someone once you have put a face to the application. It becomes more personal. Good Luck!

Just so you know, last year a much larger number of accepted students (about 100 more) than they predicted decided to come to Colgate, so they couldn’t take many students off the waitlist. They’ve compensated for that this year, so the class should be smaller and they might be able to take more students off the waitlist.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

but i’m an international applicant. i have no chance to visit the school in person…

i dont ask for FA either…

as for the material updated to Colgate… do they love the kid with more ECs or anything more challenging for academics?

When my father applied to Colgate (his first choice ) he was waitlisted. Every week he would call the admissions office and let them know how interested he was and asked when he might be notified of a change in his decision. Eventually, he got the notification that he was pulled off the waiting list and was accepted. During his sophomore year at Colgate, my father did volunteer tours for admissions. One time while he was chatting with one of the secretaries in the office, she told him she remembered his name and that the fact that he kept calling and showing his interest in the school was largely responsible for his acceptance.

Just thought I would share his story with you. Good luck!
