What can I do with a degree in Interdisciplinary Engineering

Can’t seem to find much information about the field.

Probably not much if you want to work as an engineer. I’ve never heard of such a degree. Avoid it. The reason you can’t find information about the field is because it’s not a field.

As an undergraduate, the usual advice is to stick to one of the conventional engineering disciplines–mechanical, electrical, chemical, or civil.

Can you provide more info on the program? The practice of engineering tends to be specialized, so a “general” engineering degree would only really prepare you for jobs where you need to understand engineering principles but not need to actually apply them.

I’m interested as well! I’m transferring to UCI and they have a general engineering major for upper div students. I don’t think it’s accredited though. Any thoughts?

That’s going to be a tough sell.

It’s equivalent in dating is “doesn’t kick dogs, is nice to old people.”

I suppose that a law school or some graduate program might be the natural follow-on. Or maybe with teacher licensure it could be good. Or, if you had an hourly job and needed a degree to go exempt, that could work.
