What college fits me?

Excuse the narcissism in this post.

Alright, now I don't know how many (or if any) of these schools I will get into, but just for ***** and giggles, which would match me best?

-McGill
-Oberlin
-Carleton
-Bowdoin
-Bates
-Johns Hopkins
-Swarthmore
-Cornell (AS)
-NYU (CAS)
-University of Chicago
-Washington University in Saint Louis

About me-
I am a Jewish Northeasterner who wants to study Creative Writing and political science. I enjoy a good hippie/hipster/alternative culture at any school, but was turned off by the extreme level of inwardness I found with the students at Wesleyan. I would like to go to college where students are genuinely engaged with their studies and will take stimulating/intellectual discussions outside of the classrooms. I appreciate diversity and even though I lean left politically, I am somewhat frustrated with an intense level of political correctness to the point where it becomes discriminatory. I'd like to see a diversity of opinions in my school as well in order to have a fuller and more mature conversation. In regards to substances, I'm okay with drugs and alcohol around me but not to where it's the only thing to do for fun. I like cities because they often offer excitement, but I could easily do the small college thing.

What you are saying brings to mind Swarthmore, U. Chicago and Carlton primarily. The City location of Chicago might be appealing, so you should try to visit. My impression is that Carlton is the most laid back of the three.

I think NYU matches your personality the best. Pretty sure it has the best “hippie/hipster/alternative culture”.

I’d say UChicago, NYU, and Carleton…and maybe Hopkins.

Just fyi, WashU doesn’t have a writing major, in case you would be dissatisfied with a minor.
