i'm a junior in highschool and i've wanted to be a doctor since i can remember...
i have two questions, 1. what kind of college looks good on an application to medical school? i have my eye on a private college in FL which has a good premed program, but they're not accredited, will that affect my chances of getting into a good med school? recommend me some things that make a good premed college!
2. what are some ways that i can prepare for premed while in highschool? besides take lots of challenging maths and sciences, which i've heard 100 times...also, i don't have opportunities to shadow a physician, research, or volunteer, because i live overseas where that is nigh impossible...i also can not even hold a job! :s suggestions?? i'm studying for ACT and SAT...
thanks for any suggestions!!

Well, first:

Going to an unaccredited college, is definitely bad. Don't do it. There's a reason why colleges are supposed to be accredited.

As far as what makes a "good" premed college, it's really not cut and dry as at most colleges there is no "premed" major. I would say a school that allows you to achieve a high GPA and allows you enough time to do extracurriculars and study well for the MCAT is a good school.

I would right now concentrate on doing well on the ACT/SAT first and making it into a college or university first that is accredited. As far as preparing for the premed sciences, I would get MCAT books and use them along with your courses now.

Definitely avoid any unaccredited colleges.
