What college website is your favorite, and least favorite? And why?

For me,

Least:
I absolutely despise UIUC's website. It's confusing and has a really funked out layout on the main page. The information is all quite vague as well. Plus, they chose horrible pictures for the little slide show on the main page. That smiling Asian girl in the third picture really gets on my nerves.

Favorite:
Valparaiso University has a very pretty, as well as easy to navigate page. It makes the school seem warm and inviting. The links are clearly marked, and easy to use.

this one, of course :)

I'm talking about the specific web pages for specific universities.

MIT's is pretty cool. It gets a new theme every day, and the layout is very clean.

Don't really have a least favorite.

I actually love uiuc's website. My least favorite is UIC's.

MIT is probably the best designed that I've seen... you would think so, being a Tech school and all.

But Stanford is my favorite... because I just go there and look at the pictures and slideshows of sunny California when I lose motivation to do my essays

^ Haha that's inspirational alright. I like the Stanford website. MIT's is good too.

wait wait wait wait wait....

UIUC has the SECOND worst.

The University of Washington has the worst.

Brown is my favorite.

UIUC's does suck.

YALE BABY!!!
There is blue everywhere. I am biased because I love the school too.
The site is well guarded too.

i hate stanford's website... u have to get all the info from ur college dept. i hate going in there by the way how do u get stanford's app. essay (they use common app. as well as their own but i cant find it)

I love MIT's website (and MIT).

As for my least favorite, I really don't know... I only ever look at colleges that I might want to apply to, so I'm already biased in their favor. But most other websites that I've seen are pretty annoying to navigate and/or boring. Before I saw MIT's website, I thought that's how college websites had to be. :p

MIT has a really cool website, but I think UCR has the nicest looking site with more useful information than any university. It also has loads of interaction, slideshows, and info slides. UCSD's site gives me the shivers since it is so lifeless. I design websites for extra money, and I know a horrid site when I see one.

I do like MIT's, it's very unique :)

MIT's is amazing. I love how the "mit" letters are hidden in thev front page photo every day. Even the departmental websites are mostly well-designed, which is rare. (well, a few are still eyesores, but most of them are nice.)

Before the redesign Oberlin's was the worst, but now it is quite good.

lol

YALLLLEEEE.

Lovely shade of Yale blue everywhere.

And it's Yale.

Totally biased though :)

I'll have to check out the MIT one though. Sounds cool

Honestly, I do not like any website that uses normal boring fonts.

Best: Carnegie Mellon
its so pretty and inviting, very easy to use. and needs to be being really good mathematics/arts school

Worst: Ball State horrid and has no information, aka didnt apply

best: RISD : Rhode Island School of Design or Graphic Art School: Art Education School in New York, the School of Visual Arts

WORST!!!! Yale University School of Art: Home and Welcome to The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art

i expect a lot if a school teaches graphic design.

I don't hang out on colleges' websites all day, but I do think UCLA, Caltech and Harvey Mudd have nice and functional websites.

I had trouble finding what I was looking for on Harvard, Princeton, and UChicago's websites.
