Harvard…

because I’m a nonconformist & I don’t give into social pressure & prestige

Any school that doesn’t have football and basketball.

…good school, beter than you would think and this is coming from a northerner.

Personally, I don’t want a really small school, like <2000 students. The bigger, the better.
And a decent M/F ratio. Rensselaer sent me a brochure and it looked like a cool school, so I decided to check out there web site. It’s like 75% dudes. My parents sent me to a all boys HS and college will be a welcome change.

BYU

[10char]

Bob Jones University. How could you ever hang your diploma on the wall with that name on it? It sounds like a pretend college. They could have at least called it Robert Jones University.

I will never, ever, ever go to Rowan University. It’s not that I hate it, in fact I really like it. But I can hear the PA announcer during the football season from my yard, and I was one of the first attendees of their summer day camp when I was five. My high school is a 20 min drive with no traffic, and I have walked to my house from Rowan. I can’t go to a school that is closer that me than my high school.

I would also probably never go to a Catholic college. I am Catholic, and I have been attending Catholic schools since I was 4. I’d really like a change of scenery.

ETSU. It’s depressing as heck.

Southern Polytechnic State University.

It’s a concrete box.

My mother would have a coronary.

I don’t like schools that are right in the middle of cities and which lack real campuses that are set off in some way, such as NYU, George Washington, BU, UPenn, etc.

SUNY Albany is too ugly. I don’t like campuses with all modern buildings–they look fake to me.

Upstate New York schools in the snow belt.

Hampshire College seems like a colossal waste of money unless you want a baby-sitter for your kid for four years.

Schools that are overly obsessed with sports.

I’m also sure that Brown is a great school but the tour guide we had was unbelievably pretentious.

Never. going. to. Yale.

I would nevvvvver go to Wash U or Vanderbilt.

I would NEVER go to Vandy or SC. Both schools don’t seem to be worth the money or the drive to LA. Plus I’ve never met an alum from either that wasn’t a complete tool.

I would never go to Harvard.

Would not go to super religious small LAC in the middle of nowhere

I would never to Coppin or Morgan. Those two colleges are like the worse HBCUs and I bet some of the misfits that I had attended high school with go there.

I could never go to Harvard, Princeton or MIT. Everyone I’ve met who attends any of the three has been extremely pretentious, and nearly made my encounter(s) with them unbearable.

^ Then I guess you need to meet more people from HYPSM

Oh–Washington and Lee. As soon as I saw the bit about some students still displaying Confederate flags, I knew it wasn’t the place for me.

Washington and Lee seemed both like a dream and a nightmare to me. Very pretty, very strong education, a certain number of scholarships. I think you’d get a very fine, very personal education. Their honor code is impressive, too. However, the Frat-iness and the time warp feeling would be very strange. Also, meeting in a chapel with the statue of the semi-recumbant Robert E. Lee and his horse buried outside–very odd. And the Cadaver Society idea, that is fascinating but a bit too weird for me.
