What Colleges are you applying to

WishWash... You can't be serious, are you? 37 colleges, at about $50 and application, you're talking nearly $2000. And how in the world are you going to chose? Can you even visit that many colleges in a school year? haha

Well.... good luck. I'm sure you'll get in at least at some of you're choices lol.

I caution anyone to view Carleton as a "safety." Carleton, like any other college or university, is seeking to maximize the number of applicants. The Liberal Arts Experience Program, like the mass mailing and seemingly personal attention paid by many competitors (and Carleton itself), is not designed as an admissions path. Instead, the admiral goal is to educate high school students about the wonderful options available. I am not questioning your odds for admission; rather, I suggest circumspection, and a touch of self-doubt, as you assess your "likely", "match" and "safety" schools. Disappointment is no fun.

By the way, Carleton is a WONDERFUL place. I hope you apply, and that you're accepted.

I'm a junior, so here's the list of colleges i am examining in order of preference:
Princeton, MIT,
Dartmouth, UC Berkeley,
Yale, JHU, Claremont colleges,
UCLA, Cornell, Olin Engineering, Columbia,
NYU.

Currently taking math class at another UC, so i guess that would be my safety school, as i am 99.9% accepted.

WishWash you have got to be kidding me. Applying to 37 collleges is probably the stupidest idea I have ever heard.

Seriously. Even with a fee waiver, that's ridiculous. Why not narrow the 5 UWs you have down to one for a start?

I hope you're joking.

Imagine if they were rejected from all 37...

Caltech
Harvard
Princeton
UCLA (safety)
UC Berkeley (safety)
UC San Diego (safety)

I have a lot of money, and I'm not afraid to spend it on college apps. I'm seriously not kidding.

Start on September 1st, and fill out one app a day.

Well, I am only in 9th grade, but I have thought about this quite a bit. Here is the list for now:
Juilliard (dream school... if I get accepted there, then forget the rest.)
Carnegie Mellon University
NYU Tisch

haha, I will have more later... but those are the ones I want the most. I plan to apply to a lot though, because Theater programs are hard to get into and I need a backup plan.

Damn, I would love to apply to Harvard, or Georgetown, or Princeton, but I KNOW I wouldn't get in.

I'm going to try to transfer to Georgetown, or Chicago, after 2 years at COMMUNITY COLLEGE -- woooooo!

For the heckk of it though, I'm also applying to DePaul University (Chicago), Boston University (Boston), George Mason University.

I appreciate anyone who has a response about my choices!

WishWash you have got to be kidding me. Applying to 37 collleges is probably the stupidest idea I have ever heard.

I completely agree. Narrow your list please.
