What colleges do I have a chance for?

Hi im a Junior currently in high school, looking for colleges, but I have been very discouraged due to my low gpa and pretty weak extracurriculars. Everyone else at my high school is so smart and competitive so I feel like I have no chance at a good college. I want to major in science and math. Do i have a chance in any top national universities? or liberal arts? I live in New Jersey and I will most likely stay in the northeast area, but I do not want to stay here in New Jersey, any other state would be fine. My dad is so smart, he graduated from a top 30 ranked school but I feel like i am disappointing him by not being as smart.

My stats:
gpa unweighted total (4.0 scale): 3.55

freshman gpa: 3.75
sophomore gpa: 3.325
junior gpa predicted with my current grades: 3.58

I took no APs in freshman year but ever since i started taking harder classes, ive been getting worse grades. also during sophomore year, i felt very discouraged and depressed with family issues and i felt so unmotivated in life so i am trying to do better and recover from that this year.

SAT score: 1450

i plan on taking 2 sat subject tests this year

Track and field: 4 years
community choir: 3 years
environmenal club at school: 3 years
private flute lessons: 5 years

I took 4 AP classes in total (1 sophomore year, 2 now as a junior)
-got a 3 on one last year (APUSH)

Your GPA is going to hurt you for a lot of top places, especially at places that cut freshman year from GPA calculations. Your test scores are strong, though. So, maybe you have a chance at some top places, and by top I mean top 50. Don’t worry about your dad. Do what you can this year, use the possibility of going to a top place as motivation. You’ve still got time to make yourself as strong a candidate as you can, so that’s what you should do instead of worrying about what you could do. Do it. Good luck.

I have a few good ideas for you. You haven’t specified what you want to do, but I have some ideas.

Dude, there’s loads of great colleges you can go to…Rutgers (in-state), UVM, UConn, Bentley, Temple, Fordham, UMBC…

It’s not where you go, it’s what you learn.
