Hi all! Need some opinions about what colleges I, as a transfer student, should be looking at.
A little about me…
The good: I’ve attended two schools: a state-school in NJ, made Dean’s List my first semester, left with a 3.4 GPA. Now at a community college in NJ, currently have a 3.75 GPA, and am a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Unfortunately due to finances, work has always been a priority, not extracurriculars, but I have had the same job for two-and-a-half years, and am in a supervisor position. I am also an intern at a nonprofit based out of NYC.
The bad: I have five W’s on my transcript (one semester). Why? Mental health/grief reasons, stemming from my father’s death.
My major: English and political science. I am interested in political communications/journalism, but want to have a flexible undergraduate degree.
Finances are slightly an issue, but location is not. Preferably the east coast, but wouldn’t be opposed to great schools elsewhere.
For what it’s worth, in the past I’ve gotten into NYU, USC, BU, and have been rejected by Berkeley and Penn.
