I am currently transferring to a UC this upcoming Fall and plan to go onto law school after my senior year. Is there anything in particular that I should do now to prepare or would now be too soon?

bumpp, any advice?

work hard and try to get as close to 4.0 as possible. work on LSATs

Are you coming from a CC? If so, take a year between college and law school. It will help. Based solely on anecdotal information, CC transfers do better when they apply with two years of grades from the degree-granting U, rather than just one.

well won't I have 2 years if I am transferring for my Junior year to a UC?

You will have one year, because of when you apply.

CC transfers will do better with 2 years on their transcripts than with just 1 if they aren't experiencing a downward trend in their overall LSDAS GPA. ;-)

For someone like that (myself), applying ASAP was helpful.

My advice is to work hard to get a good GPA, but more than anything do whatever it takes to beat the LSAT. If you want to attend the best law school possible, don't pick courses carelessly and don't experiment. Do what you like and what you know you're good at.
