What could I do in science education (outside of teaching)

Hey, I'm a high school senior who may be interested in pursuing a career in science education. I'm currently most interested in studying biology and chemistry, although I have yet to be exposed to the other sciences.

The main person who got me interested in science education was my bio teacher, who sparked my interest in science in the first place. He explains concepts in such an easy-to-understand, fun, passionate way. I would love to be able to impact others' lives like he did for me. Also, I did science research over the summer. I realized that some kids had more opportunities to study science than others, and I thought that was really unfair. I would like to help solve this kind of problem in the science education system.

I'm not interested in teaching; I don't feel like I would naturally be good at it for various reasons. One reason is because I am better at helping people indirectly rather than directly (like a doctor would). I think I would be better at doing research regarding what is working and not working in science education and developing new/better programs. I am interested in alternative forms of education as well, such as homeschooling and science programs for girls.

What kinds of jobs could I do (other than teacher/professor)? Thanks for your comments.
