so, basically my goal for vanderbilt is

1 take premed classes before junior year for MCAT

2 take italian freshman year so i can go to italy study abroad

3 take my axle courses

4 complete my major (idk what that is yet, math or science based probably, because itll be easier)

Questions:
when should i study abroad?
my first year courses are
physics 121a/b
chem 102a/b
italian 101a/b
Mult. Calc/FYWS (preferribly english? to get rid of my english requirement plus some axle requirememts)

how can i do this as efficiently as possible, does this work?

1) Those classes sound fine for your first year, but for the MCAT, you’ll need to take Orgo and Bio 110a/110b your sophomore year.

2) The best time to study abroad is during the summer after your sophomore year. Therefore, you could delay italian 101a/b until your sophomore year if you’d like, unless you are planning to take more advanced classes during your sophomore year.

3) Axle courses are very easy to work with if you are organized. You will have to take a few “oddball” classes such as a US History class but it is definitely do-able, even with multiple majors and minors. Remember that a lot of classes overlap in various categories.

4) You won’t have a problem completing a science or math major, considering the classes you are starting out with. My suggestion is to make a 4-year plan (you’ll end up doing it eventually, so it’s best to start it now) and make a rough sketch of the classes you are planning to take. If you are only considering one major, this will be extremely easy and you’ll be searching for other classes to fill in the time. It’s a good idea to do a minor or another major in a different area to fulfill axle while also pursuing your interests.

You won’t have a problem fitting everything in, I promise.
