What degree should I get for the best chances of international travel.

Im currently a junior and would love nothing more than to be able to have a job and move to another country with it. I'm primarily interested in math and science. I live in the United States and would love to move to another country, not just travel there for a month or two. What degree/job would help me achieve this?

Talk to your high school guidance counselor. He or she can be a big help in finding careers that fit your personality and strengths and weaknesses.

Majors: International Relations, International Business, International Law, public policy, finance, economics, public health, journalism, American Studies, African American Studies, African Studies, legal studies, education, english, languages.

Jobs: Teaching English in another country, Language Translation services for businesses, World Bank, IMF, State Department personnel, African American Studies, American Studies. Many of these require advanced degrees. there are many other jobs

Petroleum engineering, geophysics, chemical engineering, computer science, etc.

Countries like Canada and Australia heavily value such degrees when granting visas.

Thank you! I will try to talk to my councilor today.

People who I know that are from the US but have worked in different countries:

1) Accountant/Auditor - worked for a multinational corporation and had opportunity to work in another country
2) Teacher - has worked in Asia and Africa
3) Professor - now in New Zealand

For teaching, generally they would want you to have some experience teaching before you move abroad. For International Schools you can teach any subject, such as Math and Science.
International Schools often recruit at International Teaching Fairs.

chem eng/metallurgy/mining eng/geology. Get your degree for cheap or free in the US though (by getting good enough stats and lining up a school that will give you scholarships, stat appropriate tier, ) and then travel. Don’t pay through the nose to do a degree overseas. I don’t think you have the stats to expect merit overseas.
