In years past whem current Techers were pre-Techers what did you do
that destressed your wait for the EA decisions in December?

...I am still working on my elbow licking routine....but have not changed my
life pattern much....
:)

I realized that I might need to finish my Stanford app, at least until I received my EA decision. At that point, the Stanford application found itself on a journey to the shredder.

I scheduled an interview for MIT (which I promptly unscheduled when EA results came back).

And then I died a lot in NetHack.

"Destressed"? College applications are stressful?

There were definitely times in my life when I felt very stressed, but college applications weren't among those. Not even close.

It's just filling out personal information and test scores. As long as you did well on them (which is something you should have been stressing out before), you'll get into at least one good school.

Beyond getting into a good school, everything is up to you and how hard you're willing to study.

Hence, nothing to get worked up about.

As for what I did senior year of high school to pass the time.... I watched lots and lots of movies, read books, worked out, and watched MMA.

Pretty much the same things I do nowadays.

...yes, I am beginning to get it :)

don't think about all the things that can go wrong.....
...(quite a few if I start thinking about it )....just be positive.....
.......

....Okay...maybe try some things that I am
Ridiculous at....and laugh my head off...

I'm chillin ...
:D

I'm failing to see why college applications should be stressful, or at least not manageable. The application should be the least amount of stress you undergo in the time between your senior year of high school and your senior year of college.

They are if you wait until two days before they're due to write them.
Or, alternatively, if you write them a month in advance and then spend weeks agonizing over whether Sentence A should go before Sentence B, or Sentence C should be deleted, or Topic D is inappropriate for the audience...

But the subsequent waiting game isn't stressful at all. (It's like waiting for a test to come back. It's something to look forward to, not something to dread.)

I'd prefer to believe that the admissions committee doesn't concern itself with whether you agonized over your sentences as an English major would do or not...
