This will be my first time taking the ACT.
I’m going to take it for the third time this Saturday. I’m currently an incoming high school sophomore. The first time that I took the ACT I scored a 25. (June 2014 and I had just finished my 8th grade year)
I scored a 26 the first time and a 27 the second time
28 the first time (34E, 34R, 26S, 17M) and took it for the second time this last Saturday.
My son scored 30 the first time and 31 the second
30 the first time (31E, 28R, 30S, 30M, and a 7 in the essay).
Taking it for the second time in September.
34 the first time (35E, 36R, 30S, 35M, 10 essay)
32 the first time (32E, 31M, 35R, 31S, 10 essay). 34 the second time with not much additional prep (34E, 35M, 35R, 33S, 10 essay).
My S did a 34 the first time. He had taken SAT prior (2100).
I scored the exact same thing the first time as the last time.
Without even looking at an ACT practice test beforehand, I scored a 36 in April (36M, 36E, 35CR, 36S). This post is by no means a way for me to brag; I just want to show other future ACT takers not to be too worried when taking it for the first time. To me, it is easier than the SAT and easier to get a high score, but the one problem might be the time constraints, which to me are a lot tighter than those of the SAT
31 first time without any studying. I had, however, studied quite extensively for the PSAT and I think that helped me significantly on the ACT.
It matters very little what others score the first (second or third) time taking the test.
Your scores are the ones that count.
31 without studying. (32 M, 31 E, 31 S, 28 R)
30… @HeyItsNick Your subscores are very impressive… except for math. If you work on math, you’ll have an outstanding score.
Trust me, I know. Math has never been my strong suit, I am dreadful at it but I have been studying. I’m taking again in Sept for the last time. Wish me luck!
@HeyItsNick Best of luck to you man. Plenty of time to improve your score, and once you do, composite will be great.
33 the first time, 36 the second
