Yeah, I would love to hear some other opinions.

@superexcited: I also used Hitler! Oh boy! I’m just hoping I get a 10+

How do I look so far?

I talked about how leaders shouldn’t be held on different standards for breaking the law or whatever.

1984 - Big Brother & the Party rose to power and made the laws too strict for overthrow and to live with freedom (I know this is a stretch but I think the way I wrote it it made more sense)

Mussolini - Brought fascism to Italy and brought disorder with his march to overthrow the government (once again, we took very brief notes on him the day before in APUSH, this might have been a bit of a stretch too)

Macbeth - Manipulated the divine right of kings to secure the throne and killed off everyone who posed a threat (not as developed as the first two.)

I’m really unsure of how I did. I know it’s hard to guess but anyone have a rough estimate score?

Used Hitler, John Locke, and Fyodor Dostoevsky’s “Crime and Punishment”. Hopefully I did well.

I got the moderation topic and said moderation is key to success. I used Jack Welch, Napoleon, and The Crucible. I basically said if you devote your life and efforts into one thing it can hurt you.

I used the CEO of banks (i.e. leaders of the financial world) and how they royally messed up our economy but haven’t really been held accountable. Haven’t heard anyone else use that. I can’t believe I didn’t even think of someone as obvious as Hitler for the prompt haha, yikes.

I got the moderation prompt and agreed with the quote. I used The Grapes of Wrath, the French Revolution, and the Progressive Era.

I used Enron, a made-up South American dictator, and (briefly) Nixon.

Unfortunately, I ran out of space, so my conclusion and last body paragraph sucked.

my was on leaders and i used jefferson

For the Moderation Essay, is it wise to say anti-moderation? since i am guessing the majority of the people is for it… would being different promote your score…?

Articles of Confederation vs Constitution and Napoleon’s Operation Santa Barbarosa

I had the moderation essay and chose Jay Gatsby, a made-up news article about a swimmer, and a really drastic misrepresentation of a political candidate. We’ll see.

is it gonna hurt my essay grade if i only used one example even though i wrote a lot about it (almost used up the entire space allotted)

I wouldn’t think it would really matter as long as it is well written. What exactly does the collegeboard look for? Do they just read the essay and if they like it it’s a good grade, or is there a chart they fill out like the NYS regents
