What do these terms mean ?

I know this is the wrong section but I'd thought I'd post here since people use these terms here frequently.

What does it mean when people reply
" reach "
" mid reach "
" low reach "
" in " ( I know what this means lol )

Thanks !

Reach/High Reach: Admission to this college will be very difficult. Either admissions is always a crapshoot, or your objective stats just don’t add up. Essays will play a big part. Think HYPSM

Mid Reach: Basically the same characteristics as reach, but more manageable. Your stats might be at the lower half of the college’s range, but you still need solid essays. Places like Northwestern, Cornell, UCB (depending on the person).

Low Reach: Your stats are well within the college’s range. Your chance of admissions is much higher than the listed admission of the college. More emphasis might be put on scores, but you still need a good essay. Schools can either be low or mid reach depending on a person’s stats.
