reception and panel discussion to learn
more about Cornell.

NOW THEN -- is this an interview or what..seems like many ppl are going to be there and im not really sure whats up with it...anyone have any ideas about this interview session...seems like the rest of u actually HAVE interviews!

I think it actually strengthens the notion that alumni interviews' purpose is to inform prospies and not to have the alum interview sway applicants (or relatively minutely in regards to the whole package).

After reading this message, I'm further convinced that had you gotten a normal alum interview, it would count for virtually nothing (as many alum interviews do). The event would save a good amount of time in regards to Cornell interviewing.

Hopefully you will have any of your questions addressed. My speculation is that you will have a better idea of the status of an actual, Starbucks-esque interview, complete with personal anecdote and demonstrated interest at the session.
