What do you do when you see someone cheating?

snitches get stitches.

Tip the professor anonymously that there have been some cheating going on in class. Don’t mention specific people. Just let the prof be aware of the situation.*

The only way for Evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.

I’d only use names/give more details if the situation directly affects you in a way. 99% of the time it doesn’t.*

Also, on a side note to the people who said the cheaters would have their lives ruined: uh they put themselves at risk, and they should already know what they’re putting in jeopardy by taking the chance. If they think life is peachy and they can fooleveryone, reality check early in life before their lives are REALLY ruined.

If someone cheats they are kind of screwing themselves over, I wouldn’t blame myself too much.

if i saw someone cheating, i wouldn’t report them. i’d just pretend like i didn’t see anything. that’s what i currently do. if someone asks to cheat off me, i might say yes (really depends). but that depends. however, otherwise, i’ll be guarding my answers with my off arm =)

lol one time this idiot in my ap bio class cheated on the test and then left his effing cheat sheet on the effing table. i picked it up and threw it in the recycling bin. i am such a good person

^ Haha, yes you are. That person couldn’t even cheat properly! XD

snitches get stitches, just sayin

How about you mind your own business…?

I would certainly think I ought to turn the person in if I were 100% sure, but I can certainly see how that would be awkward without proof. Cheating is not a victimless crime, regardless of whether the class is on a curve. If the class is not on a curve, the victims are the students next year who get a harder final, since the average was so high this year, and whoever doesn’t get the job that the cheater gets due to his higher GPA. In that sense, cheating is like theft - it’s theft of future opportunity from those who have integrity.

You know what, don’t listen to those other guys. Think about what’s going to happen in the future. Let’s say someone cheats their way all through med-school and somehow becomes a surgeon. This guy is going to perform life or death operations on people. Someone’s method of cheating will some how come into play at the risk of others. Think about how this kid is taking the spot of someone at the school who actually belongs there, who is willing to work his ass off. Think about the students who have spent hours and hours studying to make a difference. If I wasn’t prepared for an exam, I would just take the failing grade like a man. You’re prolonging the inevitable life lesson, and the longer it waits, the higher the stakes will be. You can be anonymous about it. Screw the snitches get stitches. I am a military veteran, we are all about integrity.
