California, going to college in NYC.

I am from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Its a part of India from where many students dont go abroad for Undergrad studies. Its such a big adventure. Some people make me feel guilty as if I was doing a crime going abroad just because it costs so much. They are like "Why go abroad?" But then I think of those people as people who are just satisfied with what they have i.e. a small home, wife and kids. They have no ambition to do something substantial.

As for what I will do after undergrad, I really havent thought about it. Considering that my parents could almost be bankrupt (jokin) by the time I leave undergrad school, I would probably try to get a job for some years, earn some money, and then go to grad school.

P.S. Any gujjus here?

^ You can call me a semi gujju. Stayed in gujarat for 3 years. Kem cho? Hu tamara welcome karu chu.

Argh my gujarati messed up due to bengali. I mix both of em now :)

No.....your Gujarati is completely fine.....ajayc

I'm so glad they don't speak 6 different languages in the US....:D

So back to the topic: what are you doing after undergrad?

So apparently the NLRA is "only" 30 pages long-thank god.

Oh the joys of minoring in law.

futurenyustudent - what r u majoring in?

Econ :)

eek! :) ok- so like we have identical career plans or what?

you think chemistry is gibberish- i think chemistry is gibberish
you doing an eco major- me doing an eco major
you planning to do law- me planning to do law

nice :P

I dream of a..... long black tunnel .....

Wow, very optimistic :D

Shreya-this is were we split paths.

I'm going to work for a big law firm-you're going to work for a big law firm
I'm going to make partner at said big law firm-you're going to bolt after 5 years to work for the UN
I'm never going to leave the legal profession-you're going to become a columnist.

So, apparently my major GPA is a 4.0-totally made my day. Too bad my regular GPA is a 3.4....time to go take a fluff 2 credit course.

God, I hate myself. I have a zillion things to do, yet I don't do them, and instead, sleep all day and then go out to dinner. Now I'm gonna have to stay up all night to make up for it. Grr.

For me, getting into law school's the easy part. I wonder how I'm gonna SURVIVE law school. Being a lawyer's like the light at the end of a very long, dark tunnel, the length of which depends on the amount of work I have and what mood I'm in.

Ah well, dont worry man.... Take things as they come :D

Being a successful anything is like that :

Chem and/or Phil major (depends where I go) - probably onto the joint M.D./Ph.D either in US or Aus (MBBS/PhD here).

Well, the good news is, NLRA isn't that hard to read since I understand legalese, but the nightmarish news is I don't have a basis for a 13 page paper about it until I read more cases involving it.
