<p>Since a strong foundation in calc 3 (multivar) and diff eq is generally required for majors like engineering and physics (and very useful for chemistry, biology, computer science), if he’s thinking about going into a related field he might want to take something mathy but not as vital to his career (i.e. linear algebra, discrete, calc-based stats).</p>
<p>Chances are the math classes at his chosen uni will be much more rigorous than anything you’ll be able to find at the local community college.</p>
