What do you think is the best way to get a 4.0 gpa?

i love you ian

You need to have a balance between social life and studying. What I do now is full-on study on the weekdays, study during the day on Friday and Saturday, but go out on Friday and Saturday night. And I wouldn’t go to bed past 1 a.m. because that’s just detrimental to your health. It’s okay to get a few B’s and end up with a 3.8/3.75 GPA

There is absolutely no need to get a 4.0 GPA. Please get a 3.5 GPA and pursue other interests in your spare time.

Take easy courses & luck.

2, #5, #8, #12 are important.

You forgot the most important point:

#16: Repeat points #1-#15 all day, everyday for the semester.

Edit: Actually, yeah, just screw the teacher

Not necessarily a good strategy; if you are tired, you won’t write as well. Better to start papers and projects early and give yourself ample time to do the work.

Just take a short break - 10-15 minutes. Stretch, get a soda. But monitor yourself.

Please come visit us. We get lonely :D

This is key - try leechblock or another add-on to block pages during your work hours. They’ll restrict your access to non-research related worksites.

This really depends on whether you work better at home, or in the residence hall. If you tend to get distracted by things at home and, good advice.

This is great - most college students don’t realize that they need to plan study sessions.

All of the rest of these are good, too.

I would also suggest, as I said in #1, not waiting until the last minute to start a paper or project thinking that you can just write it overnight. Break up tasks into smaller pieces and get them done gradually. For example, if in the syllabus you observe that you have a paper due on the last day of class - don’t wait until two weeks before the last day of class to do it, because it may take more time than you anticipated. Start thinking about a topic now, and make a task list of things to do. That way if you hit a speed bump you can work through it. Many good professors build these milestones into the class itself (requiring you to hand in a topic in week 3, a reference list in week 6, a draft in week 9, etc.)

Also, perhaps - don’t worry so much about a 4.0? They’re rare in college. Just do the best you possibly can.
