Kmatimber2's post says Dean Fitzsimmon said 7%.

So now that admissions results are out, what's the new/official/announced acceptance rate?

so does anybody know how many ppl harvard admited this year?if its like 2000 then with a nice yield some waitlisters might have hope!!!

29,000 x .07 = 2030 acceptees

According to the Crimson article above, there were 29,112 applicants of which 2,046 were accepted. That is an acceptance percentage of 7.02. If 80% (last year's yield) of the acceptances select Harvard, that would create a freshman class of 1,637. Last year's freshman class was 1,666, by recollection. So, if the yield remains the same and Harvard wants another class of 1,666 (not a magic number I am sure), then Harvard would presumably pull 30-36 more people off the waitlist to get a class that size.

well the yield last year was 76..

If 76% was last year's yield, then Harvard will need to pull between 111 and 146 (depending on the yield for waitlistees) off of the waitlist. However if the yield is 81%, then it would be unlikely that they would pull more than a handfull off the waitlist.

well it has never been 81%in the near past and lets hope this year it will be even less that 76!!
