Just wondering, do you guys use your school email for everything, including registering for stuff online (like a collegeconfidential account, for example). or do you only use it for academic purposes?

I mostly just use it for academic stuff, like communicating with my professors. I get too much email in my school inbox anyways, spam and stuff like that. I just use gmail for everything else.

If I actually want to read an email that something is going to send, I use my school email. That way I know I will see it within 24 hours. If it’s just for registration or something, I use another email that I only check a few times a week- if that.

I use my school email for academic and professional purposes, and to interact with friends at school. I use my old email address for website registration and things like that. I get like 20 emails a day on my school account as it is, most of which are not spam/newsletter kind of emails, so I try to keep outside stuff on that email to a minimum so I don’t miss the important stuff.

Academic usage only really. Also for jobs, since my regular email isn’t really professional.

It’s my only email… I deleted my yahoo account when I got it. It’s easier to only need to check one account.

Absolutely nothing but educational use. I have it synced to my Blackberry so I can instantly be notified when class is canceled.

I don’t use a school email for personal use. The storage capacity for school emails tends to not be very big, and not only that, in most cases school emails get deactivated once you graduate. I keep it professional and only use the school email for academic related things because I don’t need spam and clutter in it that often comes with emails used for personal use.

School + personal use. Can’t be bothered to log out of my school email to check my other email.

I use it for pretty much everything. It’s Gmail based, and I used Gmail before going to college, so it’s not much of a change, and it’s a lot easier and more convenient to only have to deal with one account.

I actually never use mine. Professors contact us through the email we gave the school (which is before we were given school email addresses) or through MySJSU. I think I’ve only used my school email for Amazon Prime.
