<p>Few admits to HYPSM-esque schools will be well-rounded in the traditional sense. More likely, unhooked applicants will be highly specialized in one field: debate, cancer research, volunteerism. </p>
<p>However, as NSM has pointed out on previous threads, the truly well-rounded do exist, though not in their old-school, class president/football captain/NHS president form. Rather, they will have state-or-national accomplishments in multiple activities–a truly remarkable feat, and not something many can accomplish without sacrificing grades or meeting a bout of burnout along the way.</p>
