What does Bill say to Hilary after sex?

"Be home in twenty minutes."

Alright, so that was my lame attempt at getting someone to actually open this thread.

I'm actually going to be a junior in HS next year, so I don't have any SAT scores to offer you guys, which I realize might make it harder... but don't heckle me about it. I'm just curious to see about what you guys might say. I know I can't predict the future, but I'm definitely going to be attending some sort of "boot camp" type program for the SATs and ACTs and/or getting a private tutor from Princeton or Kaplan so if I work hard (which I normally do), I should be able to get decent scores on the tests.

Okay, statistics.

"Distinguished" public school in Southern California

Black/African-American

Okay, here's the deal: I took the AP Euro exam last year and got a 2. Yes, I know it's bad... but my mom's good friend's daughter is at Stanford and failed it but still managed to get a B+ in the class. AP Euro was horrible for me. But my APs will eventually be:
★ AP English (2 yrs)
★ AP US History
★ AP Government
★ AP Stats
★ AP Spanish
★ I'm taking a community college class in psych this summer, which my counselor said would be like taking another AP.

My GPA as of right now is like a 3.9 something, but usually it's like a high 3.8. I'm pretty sure that's unweighted. Honestly, I'm not familiar with how the whole scoring deal works. Yes, I suck. But I'm going to guess and say that weighted my GPA would be 3.9-3.8 and unweighted would be 3.7-3.8.

Extracurriculars:
- Ryman Arts @ USC (A selective arts program that I applied to and was accepted to for a fall term scholarship)
- Staff writer on school's newspaper sophomore year
- A&E editor on school's newspaper junior year
- Editor-in-chief senior year (this is pretty much a done deal, my advisor told me)
- Minor or major in visual Arts Academy at my school (pretty well-known in the community, I'll have about 700 hrs at the end of college courses in art as well as local art exhibitions that my school does)
- Commissioner of Publicity for "Helping Hands" Club (we tutor people who need help)
- Numerous Art Academy awards for various categories

Awards:
- Blue Honor Roll all four years (expected)
- CSF Member all four years (expected)
- Service Learning Award from volunteering at church (expected, since I already have well over the minimum of hours)
- Top 5% or less of my class

I'm most likely leaving out stuff, but... anything that was left out probably doesn't matter much anyway.

I'm thinking of applying to the following schools:
- USC (If I get accepted there, I will most definitely be going there for communication.)
- Syracuse
- UC Berkeley
- NYU
- Boston University
- Northwestern (Yes, it's not likely, but I'm going to try it as one of my "reach" schools.)
- And a whole bunch of other places I've been told are safety schools, e.g. Loyola Marymount, UC San Diego, etc.

Thank you in advance.

Bump, please help.

Bump, help me!

I think you have a decent shot (your ECs are great for communication). Get a good test score and you should be fine! good luck!

Bumpy Bumpity Bump

I appreciate it, swameegunta.

have u taken psat?
the 2 on the ap test worries me, especially when you are top 5% of class. i got 5 and not even in top 20%..?! your grades are fine. your ecs are superb (focus, passion, etc). the tests are what worries me. Are you a bad test-taker? bad at history? etc...?

anyway, if other tests are better (4s, 5s, 2200s, and 750+ sat iis) you have a pretty good shot

No, I did not take the PSAT.

Honestly, I freak out on tests. I got a B+ in the class but didn't even finish the exam. Based on what others say about the other APs that I'm taking, I think I can do well. And I'm going to change my study habits. I think I also started too late preparing for the AP Euro exam.

My Bill Clinton title reference owned yours.

If you get good test scores, I think you'll be in at USC.

Oh, I highly doubt that, haha. What was yours?

Thank you for your input, seriously. :-) What do you think about Syracuse or BU? Because those are lower ranked than SC...

If you get a 26+ and/or 1800+, I think you're in at Syracuse. For BU, I'd say 28+ and 1850+.

But, always aim above the mark to hit the mark. Shoot for a 30+ and/or 2000+.

The higher your test score(s), the more doors you open for yourself.

Oh, and the title was: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman. SHE WOULDN'T GIMME A CHANCE! Will you?"

thesweetescape, i wouldn't worry that much about AP test scores. They're not a huge deal and some colleges don't consider them for application, they only look at them after you get in to the school. So don't freak out. And study hard for those SATs. Good GPA and strong ECs. Keep it up.

I'm applying to Wharton. Could you chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/534608-applying-wharton-there-any-chance.html

Thanks, aairzoom, but I don't know anything about chancing and honestly I haven't even heard anything about Wharton before.
