What does Bing stress the most in?

I'm a sophmore in New York City and I'm heading into junior year. So this year, I got an 83.55 during first semester and 84.73 during second. I got around the same for freshmen year. I know this doesn't look good. Is there any chance I can get into Bing if I do well next year? What grades should I aim for and SAT score? What other things should I do? I really want to get into their business program.

The business program is really hard to get into. The SATs are definitely all that really matters. Aim for a 1400 or above, and try to bring your gpa up because their average gpa is around a 90, but I know some people who've gotten in with about an 88/87. Do community service or join a club or two, if you're already in some then good. Oh, and write a good essay.. and maybe make an interview with admissions if you can.

One thing you should know about Binghamton's School of Management, if that's where you want to be: it is not even ranked among the top 100 business programs in the U.S. -- That said, if you plan to remain and work in the NY metro area, you will make some nice contracts through it and it has some pull with HR people. However, you will also be competing for positions with people from more outstanding and respected undergraduate business programs.

Looking at your stats now and if you can afford it, you might look at the business program at some other state universities such as Penn State, Maryland and Indiana which has the Kelley School, among the Top 10 according to Business Week. Your chances at Indiana would be good with your current B+ average. Other undergraduate programs to consider: Miami of Ohio, Lehigh, Villanova, Illinois, Richmond, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and in the Boston area: Babson, BU and Bentley.
