What does it mean to be a leader in your school or community?

Could someone help me with this prompt? I have to answer it in 150 words, and I have no idea where to even begin. There’s just so much to write about! Anyone here a “leader”?

I’m sorry for being so concise but the second. Definitely.

@MissSuzyQ Thanks for your answer! If you have time, could you elaborate on that?

It is defiantly the second. As a leader should be someone who makes sacrifices for the greater good, kind, hard working, etc. It takes a lot to be a leader and while anyone can be a leader, not anyone can be a leader. (Sorry, I know that sounds weird.)

Have a good day!

@anthonytheboy Thanks for your answer! If you have time, could you elaborate on that?

I’d say a leader is just someone who has influence on people. They can be corrupt and crummy.

What are your ECs? You could tie one of those into your essay.

hm. you definitely don’t have to be a leader to affect change, but i agree w the above; i think what anthonytheboy means is that anyone can influence another person, but not everyone can influence them in a positive manner or in the right direction. a leader doesn’t have their own advancement in mind, but that of other peoples’, and they are highly collaborative, bouncing off and using other people’s ideas (but still giving them credit).

hopefully this helps and good luck with your question!

What do you think a “leader” is? Is a leader someone who holds a million titles, or is it someone who isn’t recognized, but is truly passionate about their role?

@halcyonheather My ECs are Science Olympiad, Math Olympiad, Biology Club, Chemistry Club, Chess Club, and Student Government. I also volunteer at the local library
