What does required really mean?

I just took 3 years of Spanish but took 7 science classes including 3AP’s and all with labs.

So Here’s another question…
Some colleges also require/recommend a 4 year of History/Social studies - so what do you do if your school doesn’t offer any more beyond 3 for example I’ve taken pre-ap u.s hist. AP U.S. Hist. and will be taking a concurrent credit political philosopy class (which satisfies my gov. credit) but my school doen’t offer world or european hist. ect… in this situation would not fulfilling the req. be okay? Should I just have my GC write a letter or make a note for my app? Also poli. phi. should give me 4 sem. credits at NNU would that make up for the additional year?

Your guidance counselor sends a School Report along with the rec and the transcript. That report lists what your school offers, so colleges can evaluate your schedule according to the school’s curriculum.

Just be sure that your school doesn’t offer any other social studies classes that aren’t history based. Psychology, sociology, anthropology are all social sciences.
