I've been writing my supplementary essay, but although I have a really great idea/content (I'm doing the joke prompt) I feel like the essay overall is pretty weak because I'm not really talking about a specific event (for example, in a Common App essay I can write about that one time when I went to a volunteer service trip.. or something. Lame example, but you get what I'm saying)
People do tell me every time that I have a really unique style of writing so I'm trying that, but I feel like the content itself is weak, making the essay quite bland...
I did take a look at some of the essays in the 'post your essay' thread, but didn't get a chance to look at every one of them.
I'm going to ask my friends to look and revise etc but I was just wondering: What does UChicago look for in supplementary essays?
Also, it says the essay should be one- or two-page. Does anyone know if they want a specific font size, indent, spacing etc?

bacteria: I’m not going to comment on what UChicago looks for in the essay, but I am going to suggest that you post your question about format in the email string which is reviewed and commented on by an actual UChicago admissions person.

Just try to convey the most “you” that you can. I’ll be happy to read it and give feedback you’d you’d like:)
