Does anyone’s WAIITP page show that their letter was mailed?

When will the decision box be filled?

Does your page say that your letter was sent?
If so, it should be filled 4 days later

My page does not say anything about my letter

If things were mailed yesterday – decisions will be visible Monday evening-- possibly earlier.

It is most certainly not midnight-- it never has been.

Someone physically releases them in a batch end of business day on the day they decide. Past few years it was a 3-day deal-- it seems to be 4-days this year-- which would be Monday.

Most of the US will have their mail by Monday.

Remember, as I posted earlier MOST but not all students get their decisions. It seems about 5-10% dribble out for whatever reason. This is what we learned from the students posting here on CC and FB in previous years.
No news does not necessarily mean bad news.
There were computer errors last year.

If you don’t see it online by tuesday-- it is fair game to phone admissions.

after my blank line now, today popped up "supplementary materials #1, its dated march 21…any idea what this means?

do you guys think I could get my letter tomorrow? I live in NJ

i hope so, also a New Jersian

Also from NJ here! Though I might’ve put my school address in Massachusetts. Either way I guess I’ll hear tomorrow, and if not, on Monday.

i applied ED1, i got my admission one night online (or at least i checked before i slept at 11:50 and woke up at 6 and checked, and voila, it was there!). so i don’t completely agree that it has to be at the end of a business day, but idk how RD works.
and your WAIITP probably won’t say when it was mailed till the four days or whenever it comes out online, mine did not.

I’m from Jersey as well, I hope it comes soon!

In the meantime…how many people here have Carnegie Mellon as their top choice?

I hate the waiting. I don’t even know why I am so anxious about it. If I get in there’s no way that I could afford it anyways.

This is what I got:

04-mar-2011 Pressurizing Fruit Punch Barrel Hydraulics
26-feb-2011
21-jan-2011 Testing Underworld Telecommunications
11-jan-2011 Priming Mascot Mischief Coefficients
09-jan-2011 Caffeinating Student Body
09-jan-2011 Initializing Secret Societies
09-jan-2011 Securing Online Grades Database
03-jan-2011 Reticulating Graduated Splines
03-jan-2011 Requisitioning Alumni Donations
03-jan-2011 Pre-Inking Simoleon Plates
03-jan-2011 Loading School Spirit Algorithm

Well…

Heh nice try but that was posted earlier…

Live in Massachusetts. Nothing yet.

CMU isn’t my top choice, but I’m very impressed with one of the programs that they have and applied specifically to that one. If I’m not accepted to my top choice but am accepted to CMU, then it’ll be a close decision between a financial safety (state school) and here.

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned earlier in this thread, but does the “Financial Aid Notification” tab next to the biographical information mean anything? I’m not sure if the tab has been there all the time since I just checked my “where am I in the process” for the first time ever. After I opened the tab and clicked “agree”, it says “please check back in mid-March for financial aid notification letters”. does that mean i’m already accepted? lol

Carnegie Mellon is one of my top choices, but I already got an amazing financial aid package from another school. I doubt CMU’s will be comparable to it even if I get accepted, so I doubt I’ll end up going, but it’s nice to know the decision lol.

Same.

If the other school is a peer of CMU’s, let them know about the financial aid offer you got. I did it way back when I was trying to figure out where I wanted to go, and CMU actually matched my offer from the other school. No way I would have been able to afford attending otherwise.

I’ve heard the term “peer school” a lot–could you give examples / make a generalization of what a peer school is?
