I am applying to the UC’s in November for enrollment in the Fall of 2019. Do they only look at my UC GPA prior to when I’m applying? Any information would be helpful.
For UCSD, UCLA, UCB, and I think UCI your personal essay questions are looked at too. But what matters most is UC gpa including the transfer academic update for fall grades.
Edit: check the UC transfers forum. There’s a lot of good info.
If you are a transfer you probabaly have 3 types of GPAs: CC GPA, CSU GPA, and UC GPA. UC’s only look at your UC GPA.
The question is slightly confusing. The UCs look at “UC-transferable”’GPA, This includes courses from any college (CSU, CCC, other 4-year etc). Unless a course is vocational or an off-the grid subject, you can assume it is usually UC-transferable.
Lower level remedial courses would also not be UC transferable.
California community college catalogs commonly list transferability to UC and CSU.
However, a transferable course does not necessarily articulate to a specific course for subject credit.
