What Graduation Requirement annoys you the most?

"Wellness" was a complete waste of my time.

Having to take TWO phys ed classes. I can't take Psychology next year because I've only taken one. Forget that I have three years on a sports team, I have to take fckin' phys ed instead.

You've all heard my rants about fat people, right?

Here's another good reason why they're ruining it for the rest of us.

Forgot to add this, but Physical Education during the school year at my school consists of students changing, sitting around, and talking to other students 3 days out of the week. And yes, one mile per quarter. No vigorous physical activity whatsoever. During the summer, I suppose it is far more intensive since it consists of physical activity 5 hours straight, 5 days of the week. Nevertheless, P.E. is pointless. If one is healthy and fit, he/she will remain healthy and fit without a physical education class since he/she knows how to be responsible for his/her own physical well-being. If one is unhealthy and unfit, one will continue to remain that way since it has been the case for that individual's life (considering most students are required to take Physical Education since childhood). No class is going to change that. Seriously. I do not see overweight people coming out of P.E. lean and toned or even with less weight after a year or two of taking it. But, of course, that is just at my school.

calc II
seriously, isn't calc I good enough???

and then physics II. same as above.

Quixotic, my gym class is the same exact way. Everyone changes and then does nothing, and we only have to run a mile once each year.

A class that actually teaches kids how to have a healthy lifestyle, including nutrition and exercises, would be much more beneficial than a wasted period sitting around doing nothing.

Computer Applications

MBP, which school do you go to that requires you to take Calc II? What about people who're going into the humanities field?

That must be one badass school.

Because Stanton, the very prestigious magnet school downtown only requires AP Calc AB and/or AP Stat for senior year, though many do take AP Calc BC.

"Keystone" required for all freshmen. It was based on the 7 habits and about the most retarded thing I have ever endured.
PE is definitely another one. (Oh no! Walking a track! I could never have figured that one out on my own! Who knows, I could take a wrong left turn or something!)

Exploratory teaching. We read this short version of "Great Books" and we have dumbass debates between the loudmouths of the class. I always manage to pull out a radical viewpoint and we make discussions interesting.

And I almost forgot... Swimming. I know how to swim, I don't need a class on it.

Same here. At school, we have a required 9th grade swimming class, unless you have medical problems.
I don't like the required 4 years of history and tech credits.

BigRed and Liiiiiiiiiiiist:
I go to a math and science focused school... so that explains a lot of it. but i'm not a math person... at all. I choose to come to my school because my old one sucked... so it's my fault. I signed up for it. but it still kind of ****es me off.
Oh, and I'm interested in going into International Relations and Sociology... yeah, i'm a big math person (fingers crossed)

edit: oh, but the name of the schools is Missouri Academy of Science, Mathematics, and Computing. see, i told you i was fairly warned before coming.

Actually, now that I remember it, we had to swim in 10th grade gym.

Useless though. The guys were put in the deep and and had to swim 20 laps. Us girls, however, pretty much changed into bathing suits, got in the shallow end, and walked back and forth "20" times (or until the guys were finished).

ughhh p.e. requirements are the worst.

We've heard PE enough, I guess we aren't checking out online PE programs.

The only people who take PE online on Florida Virtual School were those who refused to take it in the first place and realized they HAD to take it. Lucky bastards.

a writing class. because apparently nobody knows how to write... even accelerated students had to take that remedial writing class.

PE.

because we don't even do anything in there that helps our health out or makes us healthier people.

PE because I already do track and xc and I think that's good enough for that, Health because I think I have learned everything there is to know about that in middle school and its common sense and a waste of time.

P.E. for 2 years. Art 1 year.

They are obviously taking too much space in my schedule
and i have to take them in summer, which means i have to
pay for them. :(
