What Graduation Requirement annoys you the most?

Just as the title states, what graduation requirement annoys you the most?

For me, I'd definitely say Occupational Education - We need to have 2 Semesters worth of official "Occupational Education" classes, but I mean isn't SCHOOL just occupational education?! I think it just annoys me because I don't want to take any of our offered Occupational Education classes :P

So, what requirement annoys you?

Starting with my class we have a senior project <.<

Its graded on pass/fail, I mean college applications are enough for senior year...

^ Oh, yeah, we have this ridiculous Culminating Project thing too. We have to make a presentation of our best works from every year, write about them, talk about our future plans, etc. That's pretty annoying, too =S

3 years of foreign language.

^We only have two. ^_^

115 hours of Community Service. >_<

I mean I don't mind doing CS, but 115 felt a little overkill.

We only have 100 ^_^

I hate having 2 years of physical education because it doesn't count for college and it takes up space in my schedule for taking other classes. I also hate health- complete waste of time. Geography was pretty pointless too- all I did was color maps and watch movies for a semester.

Definitely Health. My god...still haven't taken it.

PE 2 years is actually fine for me; I like PE/exercising/sports and etc so no problem, but it does take space.

ART. And PE. Art was awful. I waited until the very last semester of high school to take art, and I had to take 2 semesters, so I had to take two classes in one day. And our school does block period schedule on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so on Thursdays I had 4 hours of non-stop art. With the same teacher. It was miserable.

Probably art, since I don't like art, like, at all. Yep, art.

Classwise we're required to take "Modern History of Hawaii", "Participation in Democracy", and "Career and Life Skills." All three classes are completely blowoff classes but luckily I can take them online so I can take real classes during school.

The part I HATE about graduation is that although seniors get out 2 weeks before everyone else, the week after we get out is all graduation "practice". We still have to come to school but it's 10x more boring because all we do is practice songs and walking and RIDICULOUS garbage like that.

I'd consider not going to my graduation if I wasn't making a valedictorian speech/~ 25 family members are coming.

A year-long project each year that's at least 20 pages typed and has to do with creating a product. This year's topic: community service. ***?

Oh, environmental science and electives. Apparently, Calculus is not an elective. Only things like AP Art history, and we have to have 7 of them!

PE. And I do Varsity Tennis. The problem is that it doesn't count as the state mandatory "physical" education requirement.

Theology

Learning about Biblical history and the Old/New Testaments was interesting and all, but once we got into church history and because next year is ethics, I don't feel like the classes are entirely worthwhile. One's relationship with God is important, but I don't think that memorizing and regurgitating an essay on Pope John the 29318 is the way to improving that relationship.

Btw llpitch congrats on becoming val. Does your school not include the first and second semesters of senior year in calculating rank? Or are you so far ahead you've secured the title? ;)

llpitch- I remember the pain of Mod. Hist. of HI, Part in Democ., Car & life planning, and health. Stupid HI public school requirements. I thought the grad practice after school was out was really fun. We only met for four days, and it was pretty much like a class picnic- we wore really skimpy clothing (think bikinis), sat on chairs on the football field and did silly stuff during lunch. Plus, it was the last time I saw some of my classmates.

The worst graduation requirements are that seniors can't have more than two tardies or miss more than two classes during the fourth quarter of senior year. You can't get suspended for anything or caught with contraband either. They are also obligation-crazy, meaning they check overdue library books, class fees, old detention hours, cafe duty hours, etc. before letting you graduate.

3 years of PE, 5 years of Social Science (you cram 2 classes into your senior year, I actually don't know if this is common or my school is just psycho), and "freshman requirements" which is a pain in the behind because they took out driving and replaced it with grammar >_<

Let's see...there is Academic Career Excellance (ACE). Absolutely one of the most retarded classes required. Communication Applications (Speech). Oh, and I wasn't allowed to substitute Debate for this class, even though I went to UIL competitions all the time on the weekend. :( Then we have to have a technology credit, so I got stuck taking a class where we learned how to type. :( Health and PE are pretty stupid also. Grrr...I hate going to public school for this exact reason...

3 years of full year phys ed- awful

PE/Health for me. At my school, the two kind of go hand-in-hand. I wouldn't mind PE if it was more focused on personal fitness and working to achieve goals, but at my school, it was just a big competition to see who was the best at forty million different sports. Dodgeball and basketball are not life skills, so why should I waste one hour a day learning them? It was such a waste of time. And Health was just a bunch of common sense. I used to take my notes backwards with my non-dominant hand just to keep myself sane.
