What happens if my roommate goes abroad?

So if my roommate decides to go abroad will bu give me another roommate or will I live alone for that semester? I definitely wouldn’t mind living alone at all. Would i get a say in if/who my new roommate would be? Is there a way i dont have to get a new one and could just live in our dorm alone?

I think you could have a say in who your new roommate is if you have someone you want to room with. Go to the housing office and ask what your options are.

If they give the option of keeping it a single (might not be an option if they need the bed), they may change you extra for a single.

Lots of students study abroad in the spring and I think most schools do fill the beds… def find someone who wants to change rooms or a fall student returning if you want to make the choice. And, yes, you might get the option of paying for a single, best to do what @twoinanddone suggests and make a trip to the housing office.

BU will fill your room with another student.

Without a doubt, BU will fill your room with another student. Keep in mind that while students leave for their study abroad trips, students studying abroad in the fall semester will return and need housing. Find someone to live with or you can make a new friend and learn about their study abroad experience.
