Currently, I go to a high school that does calculate for class rank (it uses decile rank), and I've been told that I'm in the top 30% when I have a 4.13 weighted GPA

Even though my GPA isn't stellar, I've felt that it wasn't exactly BAD, but after learning that I was only in the top 30% of my class of 390, and then reading statistics at many of the schools on my list (UCLA, USC, Berkeley, etc.) who report a 90-something% of their undergrad class who was in the top 10% of their schools, I started really worrying about my class rank and have been sort of scared of putting it down, feeling that it'll hurt my chances of getting in.

What happens if I don't put down my class rank, even when my high school reports it? Will colleges think I'm trying to hide something, or are they already going to know? I heard that colleges get information on how a lot of high schools calculate their ranks. How much does it effect decisions..?

Thanks for all the help!
