This question is not for me, I have already accepted an admission offer somewhere else but I do know someone who really wants to go here. They have gotten good grades the past 3 semesters but got a lot of B’s and C’s before that. They have poor test scores but strong ECs. However, they have told me that they want to change a C+ to a B- on their application and I have tried to talk them out of it but they don’t listen to anyone. I am not sure of the consequences but I want to know so I can tell them and hopefully take them out of it.

Even if your friend is admitted based on false reporting of grades and G.P.A., the applicant still has to send his/her official and final H.S. transcript around July. Cal Poly SLO will rescind the admission offer.

i would assume they have to get caught first. they get something like 50,000 applications every year. given how automated it is, how fast they have to review applications, i would be willing to wager that quite a few grades get over looked if it’s something simple like changing a C to a B or whatever.

The lying applicant will definitely get caught when the applicant submits his/her official H.S. transcript.

Admitted students’ transcript and applications are scanned and checked by computers. Followed by humans checking for any exceptions found. Source = gf working in admissions/student records office as a part time gig

This was supposed to go on the USC thread xD! Sorry guys im just to used to coming here!

You will probably get a similar or even more severe answer from USC.
