What happens if you move out of state?

<p>What happens if you move out of state while attending a public state school (ie - Bama or Auburn)? Especially regarding paying in-state vs out-of-state tuition rates and in-state only renewal scholarships? Is there a general rule of thumb or should I ask the specific school? </p>

<p>I ask because as a rising high school senior, I'm about to start applying and my parents like to move around... a lot, so it wouldn't surprise me if, at some point during my four years at college, they decide to move out of state.</p>

<p>It very much depends on the college. Some will make you an OOS student then, others grandfather you as in-state. You need to check with each school.</p>
