If you have been admitted and you indicated you needed financial aid (and filled out all the forms), when do you hear about the financial aid? Can that be "rolling" just like admission? Or does everyone send it in March? or in April? What is your experience?

Are you asking when you’ll get your financial aid packages from your schools?

Students seem to receive them in the March-early April timeframe, unless they applied ED (in that case, much earlier). If a school needs you to accept by May 1st, then they would need to give you such info early enough for you to make a thoughtful decision.

Others can correct me if I’m wrong.

When did you submit your FAFSA and whatever else you had to submit for FA?

The profile was submitted in October and FAFSA on January 1st. Thanks for the info.

Usually students receive their financial aid packages either with or very shortly after they are admitted to the colleges.

For rolling admission schools, sometimes the financial aid packages are not sent until springish…but certainly by April.

If you completed your FAFSA on January 1, you did this using the “will file” status as you have not yet completed your taxes. Please remember to complete your taxes ASAP after Feb 1 when you have all the forms to do so. Then correct the FAFSA and Profile to reflect the numbers from your tax return.

Any financial aid award you receive prior to completing your taxes and amending those forms will be an ESTIMATE…and yes…those estimates CAN AND DO change. Our daughter’s award at one school was reduced by $6000.

Good to know… good info.
