What happens if your roomate does not show up? Do you have to pay extra? Would u pay extra money to live by yourself and be happy?

With my School, and sum friends school...U either keep a single and pay extra, or they'll find u a roomate.

I'm paying extra to have a single..did the whole roomate thing, now I want a room to my own.

I don't think they would make you pay extra, because it's not as if it was your choice and they probably don't have a rate for one person in a double room worked out. I imagine you would probably get a roommate eventually, either someone taken from a crowded room somewhere else or someone who didn't get along with their roommate and had to switch rooms, although I knew of a person in my building freshman year that had the whole room to themself for half the year.

I have a one bedroom apartment which I pay 'extra' for, I guess you could say. I rather like living by myself. My school doesn't have singles and if it did I wouldn't pay extra for one because it would end up being more expensive than an apartment.

I had a friend that went to Berkeley that this happened to. She was in a double, but her roomate never showed up, but she never complained. I guess the school didn't realize it, because they never assigned anyone as a replacement. She didn't pay extra, but she had a double room all to herself. She ended up with the beds pushed together into a king size bed haha. She was always paranoid that a new roomie would be assigned to her.

My bro had a 3 people dormitory and 2 of them moved out because of broken heater/airconditioning... He had a big room all by himself and he didn't have to pay extra.

living by yourself in a triple? That's sweet. Can you say party room?

Yeah I know that in my sophmore year, just about every person in the building had a roomate who left. Crazily enough, they were never replaced and they didn't need to pay extra. I was rooming with my best friend so I had no chance of that happening (lucky me). But as far as I Know the common practice is for them to fill the room with another person the next semester, and if they don't you're not charged for it because, honestly, it isn't your fault.

Do you go to Wayne State?

Eastern Mich

Between semesters my freshman year, my roommate from first semester moved out. I was assigned a new roomate, who never showed up. I later found out she had found off-campus housing and ended up not taking the room. I ended up paying the normal rate for a double room, but occupying it as a single. It was a small stroke of luck after my roommate disasters my first semester! ;)

Oh, I live (somewhat) near EMU

Do u go to U of M?

No (10 characters)

umm I dunno, what is it.lol

My parents live in Ann Arbor, I go to school in Ohio

So what school u go to?

at my school, if it is a double and your roommate leaves or doesnt show up, you just keep paying the same rate. its not your fault they dont show up and you shouldnt be charged for a single.
