What if I don't know what to do with my life (UC prompt 1)?

I mean, I have a few ideas:

being a journalist (and studying English, sociology, etc. beforehand)

studying sociology and becoming a social worker or going to law school and becoming a human rights attorney

becoming a college professor

Basically, I just want to "change the world" and "help people", but I feel like I definitely need to describe some sort of career path... but I can't choose what to put. I'm an editor for the school paper, and my essay is basically about becoming aware of world happenings and wanting to spread that awareness, but I feel like saying that I want to become a journalist makes me look unrealistic. Plus, my second essay is about my experiences in journalism at school. I think I'm applying as a sociology major. Should I just put, I want to do __, _, or _?

HELP!

Maybe tell something about your family? But definitely tell something on what you think that would make you look good on your apps. If you have a rough Draft, then I might be able to help you. It is a good thing to let strangers proofread your essays. Strangers are the ones that are going to look on your apps.

I don’t think you have to exactly name your career as part of discussing your aspirations. You can talk about 1 and 2 as areas you are going to explore. It makes sense what you are saying about explore sociology with a view to find if you’d like to practice or writing about related topics as a journalist… The only unrealistic one I’d leave out is college professor. That’s pretty much a pipe dream and something to decide when it comes time for grad school. Not that people can’t dream, I suppose, but I also suppose you have no idea about it.
