Just throwing this out there because I have nothing to put under an EC section of any application. I’m graduating from online school this year. Yes, I realize I’m not going on in the fall and that I didn’t apply anywhere this year. I’m planning to take a year off before hopefully going on to some kind of arts program for photography. In any case I have zero extracurriculars, coming from a school that doesn’t offer them and a very small community with little to offer. I’m not interested in sports and don’t go to church. What options do I have to put something on this list during my year off? I’m traveling with my family most of the summer, so this would be starting next fall. Thanks for your suggestions : )
Volunteering would be a good EC. Even in your small community there must be opportunities that might interest you.
What do you do in your spare time? Those with ECs spend their time on those as well as other things, maybe some things you’re involved in could be considered ECs?
if you have good grades and scores, there is a huge host of universities that don’t care. If you want to get into a top school though, start getting involved outside of school.
There are a lot of colleges that do not consider ECs at all. They either admit you on your grades and scores or they admit you on a promising portfolio. You said you had a portfolio of your photography work. That seems to me that photography is one of your EC.
by the way, you would do better posting in College Admissions as Chances is more for guessing games asking if you can get in certain schools, the forum was created for those thread to be out of the real questions forums. To quarantine them, hehe
