What if you are not recruitable in a sport?

hypothetical scenerio:

done a sport four years. are good in it and could like to do it in college.

but you are not recruitable. does this mean you cannot do the sport in college? or what happens from here in college?

I'm almost positive that you can still try out for the team in the college.

Different athletic divisions have very different levels. Basketball at UCLA vs basketball at Grinnell = pretty different.

Are you sure that you could not do the sport in ANY college? Have you checked D3 schools?

If you are genuinely not qualified to continue the sport at the collegiate level, there is usually a club or intermural program so you can continue for fun.

Play it club or intramural.

You can still try out if you want. People who weren't recruited but make the team are called walk-ons (one of my school coaches did it for basketball at Kansas).

Everyone above is right. Once you arrive in college, you can still walk-on and hope to make the team. This is extremely unlikely if it is a Division 1 team. If this is important to you, try to investigate sports departments at Division 3 schools. If you don't play on the team, there are still intramural leagues.
